San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. completes acquisition of Santa Barbara Business College

San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. (SJVCI) has completed its previously announced acquisition of Santa Barbara Business College (SBBC). SJVCI will now be the parent organization of SBBC, Carrington College and its existing San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC).

“We are pleased to be able to continue SBBC’s high-quality, accredited programs that help students prepare for professional success in their chosen career,” said CEO of SJVCI, Mike Perry. “With the addition of SBBC, we will be able to combine our career college experience in order to benefit even more students, as well as faculty and staff.”

Founded in 1888, SBBC has three locations across California as well as an online division. It offers associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in medical, business, legal and technology disciplines, plus a wide variety of shorter-term job-training programs.  SBBC is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and the Accrediting Commissions of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).

San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. signs agreement to acquire Santa Barbara Business College

San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. (SJVCI), the parent organization of San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) and Carrington College, is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement to acquire Santa Barbara Business College (SBBC).

SBBC is family-owned and provides career-focused programs that are highly aligned with the institutional mission of both SJVC and Carrington College. SBBC offers similar programs in healthcare-focused fields. Dean and Matt Johnston, the owners of SBBC, have enjoyed a positive relationship with the Perry family and SJVCI for more than thirty years.

The transaction requires accreditor and regulatory approvals before it is complete. Once approved, we look forward to serving SBBC students, faculty and staff as the shared services division of SJVCI. SBBC will be a welcome addition to the Perry family of Colleges.

Carrington College Will Continue to Operate as a Separate Education Institution

San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. has completed its previously announced acquisition of Carrington College, a regionally-accredited institution that provides a career-focused curriculum in the allied health fields. San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. is now the parent organization of Carrington College and its existing San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC), a family-owned, California-based career college with a 41-year history and more than 60,000 graduates.

San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. will operate Carrington College and SJVC as separate education institutions, and it will maintain the Carrington College name and allied health programs. SJVC continues its career-focused programs in the medical, business and technical fields.

“We are very pleased to continue Carrington College’s high-quality, regionally accredited programs that help students prepare for professional success in their chosen career,” said Mike Perry, CEO of San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. “While Carrington College and SJVC will operate as separate education organizations, collectively we have more than 90 years of career college experience that we will leverage to benefit even more students, as well as our faculty and staff.”

Carrington College has 19 locations across the West Coast and Southwest as well as an online division, and offers certificate and associate degree programs in allied health fields. SJVC has 15 campuses throughout California and an online division, offering more than 20 certificate and associate of science degree programs. Both institutions are accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACCJC/WASC).

San Joaquin Valley College, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement to acquire Carrington College from Adtalem Global Education. We intend to keep Carrington College as a separate education entity, with its existing name, allied health programs, campuses and team.

The transaction requires accreditor and regulatory approvals before it is complete, which is expected later this year or early 2019. When approved, we look forward to working with and serving Carrington College staff, faculty and students.

San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) and Carrington College are highly aligned in our career-focused programs, high-quality regionally accredited education, and long history of serving local students. We teach similar certificate and associate of science degree programs in healthcare-focused fields, though in mostly different geographic areas. Our programs offer the right balance of hands-on training and classroom instruction to prepare students for success in their chosen career. In addition, SJVC and Carrington are both accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges; and both began as family-owned and operated colleges.
