Robert and his wife Shirley Perry started San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) in Visalia, Calif., in 1977 with the dream of bringing higher education and career opportunities to their community. As the College grew, thousands of graduates passed through the doors of their four campuses in three cities. Robert served as President of San Joaquin Valley College until sons Mark and Mike Perry purchased the College in 1995. The foundation of practices and principles Robert and Shirley established for SJVC in those earlier years allowed the College to grow to 15 campuses and an online division .
As a Member of the Board of Directors of San Joaquin Valley College, Inc., Robert Perry shares responsibility for the oversight, direction and solvency of Ember Education, San Joaquin Valley College and Carrington College. This Board and its members govern these and future entities San Joaquin Valley College, Inc., might acquire and operate.
Robert has achieved industry recognition and academic achievement through various programs, training and education bodies, including a certification in Family Business Operation from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia; Ryan Teaching Credential from California State University, Fresno; Associate of Science degree, San Joaquin Valley College and extensive sales and management training forums.
